Nothing Changes until you do

A few years ago I decided to educate myself more on the Philanthropic space, as I felt it was time to start contributing to things greater than me. I wasn’t sold by the traditional charity model, as there is no real accountability on where the money goes, plus I found people are fatigued by the continuous request for donations. I was fortunate to have met Scott Harrison of Charity Water and able to give him and his team some space in my office for a few years. Scott schooled me on what was possible when you believe you can make a difference, and I helped him think about his charity more like a business.

Since then I have helped a number of small philanthropic organizations in a variety of ways, but it wasn’t until I met Sean Carasso the founder of Falling Whistles that I truly understood the power of giving unconditionally. Sean has been able to create a sustainable philanthropic model, where he sells authentic whistles as jewelry to some of the coolest retailers around the world. Sean has incorporated a very worthy cause (A campaign for peace in the Congo) with great branding, incredible packaging and most importantly a passionate team, into a business model that doesn’t rely on donations.

Sean is one of those rare gifts you receive in life, where you wake up and realize the unlimited possibilities one human being can create. I feel honored to have Sean in my life as he teaches me the real meaning of the human spirit and helps me to be a better person. I have been working with Sean, and a group of incredibly smart people as part of his advisory team to develop innovative ways of spreading the message of peace - to stop the our world’s deadliest war (over 6 million people killed in the last decade)
